Health and Safety Policy

JX Live is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all staff and contractors, and to providing the information, training and supervision needed to achieve this.

JX Live will take responsibility for health and safety procedures, however, employees and contractors need to be aware of their responsibilities and comply with the business’ health and safety policy.

Each employee is encouraged to play a vital and responsible role in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace through:

  • Being involved in the workplace health and safety system.

  • Sticking to correct procedures and equipment.

  • Wearing protective clothing and equipment as and when required.

  • Reporting any pain or discomfort as soon as possible.

  • Ensuring all accidents and incidents are reported.

  • Helping new employees, trainees, other contractors and visitors to the workplace understand the right safety procedures and why they exist.

  • Telling your manager or the Producer immediately of any health and safety concerns.

  • Keeping the work place tidy to minimise the risk of any trips and falls.

JX Live has Public Liability insurance. However, all sub-contractors to JX Live must arrange for their own Public Liability insurance.

Working with JX Live in a Covid Environment

In New Zealand there can be changes to the Covid alert levels at any time. We are aware of the impact that this can have on any of our customers, and we endeavour to work with you to find the best solution with live streaming and/or filming for your project.

As part of this commitment, and aim to keep Covid down, we assure that all our staff and contractors used for your job will be double vaccinated as a minimum. As booster shot become available we encourage both your staff and ours to get these shots.

As a result of alert level changes being out of our control, we do not have a specific Covid cancellation policy. We will work closely with you around the best solution that we can achieve in that alert level.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

We believe that producing great events and content shouldn’t harm the environment.

As a production company, we are conscious of our work's environmental impact and look for practical ways to reduce it. We aim to minimise waste, reduce unnecessary travel and resource use, reuse equipment and materials where possible, and make responsible choices when working with suppliers and clients.

We also promote virtual and hybrid events where they provide a meaningful alternative to travel, helping our clients connect with their audiences while reducing the environmental impact of bringing people together in person.

We are proud to partner with the Sustainable Business Network, connecting with a wider community of businesses working towards more sustainable ways of operating and sharing knowledge and ideas for positive change.

We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey. We are committed to continually reviewing how we work and finding practical ways to reduce our environmental footprint while delivering great production experiences.

Our Commitment to Preventing Modern Slavery

At JX Live we are committed to operating our business ethically, responsibly and with respect for the people we work with.

We have zero tolerance for modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, exploitation or practices that deprive people of their freedom or basic rights.

As a small production company, we work with a range of freelancers, contractors, suppliers and service providers. We expect the people and businesses we work with to share our commitment to fair, safe and respectful working practices.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that modern slavery is not present in our business or, to the extent reasonably possible, within our supply chain. If concerns are identified, we will take them seriously and respond appropriately.

We are committed to treating everyone we work with fairly, respectfully and with dignity, and to continually reviewing our practices to ensure they reflect these principles.

Our Commitment to Paying a Living Wage

We believe people should be fairly rewarded for their work and are committed to paying our employees at least the New Zealand Living Wage rate, rather than simply the statutory minimum wage.

We believe this provides a fairer pay level that better reflects the real cost of living and supports the wellbeing of our team.

Where we engage freelancers, contractors or other suppliers, we also aim to work with businesses and individuals who share our commitment to fair and respectful employment practices.

As a small production company, we value the people who make our work possible. Paying fairly is an important part of how we operate and of our commitment to being a responsible and ethical business.
